Precarity Canada is a series of events taking place in Toronto and Montreal to document and raise awareness about the notion of precarity not as a “…simple reinvocation of dichotomies but a tendency towards the precarization of life that threatens every aspect of social existence”(Turpin and Renzi, 2007).
Precarity Canada started in Toronto with the launch event of a special issue of Fuse Magazine on Precarity and call for participation, followed by a series of publications, a panel with Alessandra Renzi and Stephen Turpin at the conference Metastasizing Capital: the Logic of Unbridled Growth, April 10-11 Brock University, St Catherines (ON). It culminated in a collaborative workshop at Artivistic, Montreal, October 2007.
